Dear Engineering Friends.
I am currently reviewing a vessel manufactured in 1960. The markings on the nameplate below the ASME "U" symbol read: W; PXR; SR.
As you very well know only the W (for arc or flame welded) meets current Code.
The remaining two acronyms stand probably for X-ray level (PXR) and stress relief (SR).
Can anyone of you confirm my assumptions and provide full explanation for "PXR" acronym? Unfortunately my memory does not reach back to 1960 and I have no acces to that old CODE edition. Thanks.
