I have a small pressure vessel (UM type stamped) vessel (a small air compressor receiver). Under the the stamp and under "W" for welded construction are the following "SH.094" and "HD.094". I no longer have access to copies of Section VIII Div. 1 code being retired. What are the notes "SH.094" and "HD.094" telling me?

I'm guessing but: Shell thk 0.094 in. Head thk 0.094 in. Might help if you could post a pic of the name-plate.

I don't believe those are (or were) required markings.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Definitely shell and head thickness. Limited by UG-16 min. thickness. Probably SA-414 material
