Hello guys. How do you deal with a hardware? I mean in an assembly workbench do you insert and position all the fasteners using publications or create a phantom part where all the fasteners positioned using axis to axis method?

Hello
I prefer the option with the axis, but it depends on your models.
Maybe sometimes this option is not the best.

For this purpose, I made two different macros. One macro is for creating axis system from sketch points, with rotation and translation
and another one is to put parts on those axes in assembly. Here are the pictures.

I have started to use this method but there is one disadvantage. You cannot make an exploded view. All the fasteners/hardware are just geometrical representations. This can be perfect for product design engineering but not for manufacturing engineers.

Why do you need an exploded view? I never use it, so I don't know that.

Also, I don't know what is a problem with manufacturing?? I construct a tool dies for auto-industry.

Nice tooling. The reason is MRBs. Bushings installed from the wrong side. Rivets Mfg. head on the wrong side. The reason is a shop floor. Where I work we are a M&P Engineers, so I have to deal with all the shop floor mistakes.
