Hi,

How much would a "scene" add to the size of an assembly(product) in Catia?
Or, how much is the size of a "scene" in a product per total?

I've seen assembly files on which the designer created a subassembly just for generating 2D view in the Drawing file.
That subassembly was a copy of another subassembly; the designer created a manual "explosion" (moved the parts) and used it in the 2D view of the Drawing file.

I do not know why the user did that, maybe he/she didn't know about Assembly Scenes...……

Thanks a lot!

Adding an enhanced scene should add a little bit of file size to the CATProduct file. You could check file size before and after adding some scenes. Scenes are very useful for making drawing views, but also they are not always stable (at least, in the older release I'm still using). I could see that using a separate CATProduct would be more stable than scenes for creating some drawing views. Also, in some ways that could be less cumbersome than managing Overload Properties for some drawing views, i.e. determining what elements to omit from a view, without impacting other views. Unfortunately there's great impact on file management and revision management of your files when you introduce multiple files that don't truly define your design configuration.

The files that I was referring are placed in Teamcenter.
Probably, another concern for using "Scenes" on them...…

Thanks Mark!
