Hello everybody,
I have a question for an expert of the ATEX certification and associated 2014/34/UE declaration of conformity:
If you are a manufacturer of an equipment as a cable gland, a junction box...etc, for installation in ATEX zone in Europe, you have to provide a declaration of conformity according to 2014/34/UE by applying harmonized standards as EN 60079-0...etc -> it is a clear process for me
But if you supply an apparatus which is an assembly of some Ex components, for example an "actuated valve" (positioner, limit switch...etc), or a "package" consisting of some Ex components installed on a common skid/baseplate (including cable tray, cables..etc), what is the process?
1) Do you have to supply a declaration of conformity and certificate for each sub-component only and not the entire package? It sounds no good because you have to guarantee the good integration of the sub-components: choice of cables, length, cable trays, gland, effects of external conditions....etc
2) Do you have to supply a declaration for the complete package? If yes, using what harmonized standard can you declare the conformity with 2014/34/UE? I know only one standard which could be used: EN 60079-14, but it is not an european harmonized standard. Can you supply a declaration of conformity of the assembly according to non-harmonized standard?
And according to the best way 1) or 2), is a "Ex" marking required on the package name plate?
Thank you
F
