Hi,
A simple question for people, who have experience in construction. I am a Jr. engg in a consulting firm but don't come across normally the practical aspect of my work. So, I wanted to clarify one point here.
When a grounding grid is designed, Can there be a consideration about filling the pit with a special kind of material which could reduce the resistivity of soil more to get better conduction.
Thanks

The backfill and any enhancement material is dictated by the grounding design, which should be based on soil modelling from soil resistivity tests conducted on site.

I remember adding something called BENTONITE or so. This was to improve soil resistivity AFTER soil was tested. You need to have your megger and go to that place and do the testing yourself, otherwise you may assume data from previous jobs in the same area. Is this grid welded or bolted?
Respectfully,
