Hi.... I am working on two projects but struck with Evaporator Length. Needed help to go through that ones.

1. I need to Cool 3,000 Liter of Water from 35'C to 15'C but immersing Cooper Coil into Water. R 134A will be used as refrigerant.
2. 2mm thickness,500L SS 304 Tank that contains milk and want to cool it to 4'C from 20'C. Copper tube has to wrapped around the tank for this purpose.

For both, want to calculate the length and size of bare copper tube evaporator.

WOW. So much info still missing..

Is this a student question?

Do you need to cool this down over six months or 8 minutes?

Are these tanks insulated?

What is the ambient temperature.

The very first thing you need to do is figure out how much energy is in the liquids at the start of the cooling. That calc includes the liquid quantity, what liquid it is, and its starting temperature. This gives the energy content.

Then you need the time to cool it.

Only then can you assess what rate of cooling you have to have.
