hi, i have a doc control dept. that i look after at my site that needs to be able to open and view both AutoCAD & Bentley Microstation files.

can anyone recommend a fairly simple viewer type program along the lines of 'Bentleyview' that support's both formats? (i know bentleyview does however some details from CAD files seem to drop off according to the users...)

any hints appreciated!

Adobe Acrobat is a simple viewer program to use for both Bently and Autodesk, You can not modify the file in any way once you've translated it over. The files are easy to make. It would be like printing out the drawing.

I think, Bentley PowerDraft 8.x is not very costly and will do the job for you.

However try to obtain newer version of Bentleyview.. You may be lucky...

The new version of BentleyView is capable of reading Microstation and AutoCAD formats and is free. If you wanted to be able to mark up AutoCAD and Microstation drawings you could try Bentley Redline. It is free for Select Subscribers.
