Hello,

Is there any documentation showing how to calculate and report unequally disposed profile (e.g. .0060 U .0025) based on actual min/max deviation data?
I need to verify results provided by our source of manufacture.

If my memory serves me correctly, we need to transfer tolerance of the unequally disposed profile into equally disposed profile and then calculate max distance between new symmetry line and max deviation.

According to the new standard on Measurement Data Reporting ASME Y14.45-2021, there is a common formula for calculation of the reported value of a profile requirement based in the measured points. That formula is T+2g, where 'T' is the total specified tolerance (for example .0060 for .0060 U .0025) and 'g' is the distance from the point nearest any of the 2 boundaries of the tolerance zone (worst point) to the boundary near it. 'g' gets a negative value when the feature is fully inside the tolerance zone and a positive value when the feature is out of tolerance.

Thanks, it has addressed all my concerns!
