Dear All

As per ASME SEC I What shall be Minimum nozzle Thickness as per PG-43

ple see below example

Nozzle DN 50( 2 in)

PG-43
The minimum thickness of a nozzle neck shall not be
less than the thickness required for the applicable loadings.
As per my internal Pressure this thickness is-2.18mm

PG43.1-The minimum required thickness of a seamless
shell or head to which it is attached
this thickness coming-13.46mm

PG 43.2 The minimum wall thickness of standard-wall
pipe listed in Table 2 of ASME B36.10M

this minimum thickness As per SCH STD is 3.42mm(including mill tolerance)

as my interpretation i can select sch 40 in design
or i no need to add Corrosion allowance in Sch 40

Dear yp3135 (Mechanical)

For the above stated data :

first you need to take standard wall thickness which is 3.42mm. Then add corrosion allowance. Lets say its 1mm. Then total will be 4.42 mm. Now your provided nozzle thickness (0.875*Tn or Actually measured thickness) should be higher than 4.42 mm.

dear jay

u stated add Ca in STD wall pipe

But why? PG-43 not indicate to add Ca in STD wall
