A good number of SMD chips are supported for breadboarding with 'carrier' boards that have old-school DIP pins. But devices such as the attached don't seem to be similarly blessed. Anyone have ideas on how to make quick connection to these without creating, and waiting for, a dedicated PCB? Thanks!

There are a bazillion adapters. There are adapters for every last SMD package. You just need to find the correct name for your package. It isn't WSON-12. Figure out the correct name and you will find an OTS solution.

Keith, you are SO right! I stumbled across Proto Advantage and they had that very carrier, saving me from probably botching at least one chip, probably more as I can hardly see the darned things, let alone tack wires onto the bottom pads. The package is a DFN, like a QFN but just two rows of 6 pins. I'm stoked, and thanks for encouraging me to keep looking for these!
