Hi all

I am looking for the appropriate transverse force to use for the design of a bridge deck which supports a H2 class vehicle restraint system. IS EN 1991-2 recommends classes A through D and provides horizontal forces but does not relate them to specific restraint systems (N1/2, H2, H4, etc.). The Irish national annex to 1991-2 expands on this but only provides loads for N1 & N2 and H4a & H4b. Has anyone been through this before and been able to determine a suitable force?

Regards
Cian

Thanks, I was able to get the relevant section translated by someone here in the office. The transverse force it recommends is approximately half way between the normal and very high loadings given in 1991-2. There is some logic to that assuming a simple linear interpolation of the loads.
