Good day fellow engineers

I have a centrifugal pump used to pump brine (salt solution) for water treatment process. there is evident corrosion on the pump casing which is of cast iron/steel material (see attached image). my question is what is the right pump components' material to use for pumping brine?

Kindest regards

In absorption system that use brine, pumps also have its components made of bronze. The pump shown in the OP was not designed to handle brine. I am sure that it was installed due to cost consideration.

There are many options as Bronze, SDSS, Nickel Resist however the most economical would be plastic.

But plastic usage shall be limited incase of high temperature and pressure. The pump in the photograph looks to be a small size and not a high power pump.
