I have a problem with a Bystronic Bystar 4020 3kw laser.
In the resonator cabinet where the laser beam is formed i the glass tube water splashed everywhere.
Every connection on the water tubes was wet. I can't see that any of a tube broke or fell out.
The laser was running when that happened I shut it down and everything was fine luckily.
After the water dried I turned on the main switch started the water pump but I can't see where the water leaks.
I suppose that the water in resonator is flowing after the laser cabinet is turned on?
How to turn on the laser cabinet to see where the water is leaking but without turning on the high voltage?
I tried to do this with MSC with local and step turned on. I tuned on the vacuum pump but I still don't see any water leak in resonator cabinet. Does anybody know when the water starts to flow in resonator?

Hello
probably you have a small leak of water from radiator inside resonator cabinet...under reflection absorber
This cause condense around glass tube and aluminum plate

Yesterday I shutdown the laser. Today when the water dried I turned it on in without the highvoltage and I didnt see any water leak... And continue cutting. After 5 hours I got litle waves in 4mm still. I spoke with a tehnican and he said that probably the mirror is not cooled down enough and that is cousing this little waves in the cut.
Now I dont know where to look for the cloged pipe. Did anybody have this problem?

Hello
we are technician bystronic since 2000
Do you have Bypos mirror on your machine?
because if you have regular wave during cutting is proportional valve, typical with 5" head and nitrogen, work wrong....
if you have cooling problem in the mirror problem starts with more power not around 50% that you use for cut 4 mm steel....
You can also check slide gap from Z axis
Take Z to lower limit and try to move with hand the head and carriage.....you can feel gap

no its not so humid, and yes the water flows as soon as the chiller starts up.

I realy dont know but I think I have a bypos mirror but we are cutting only with O2.
On thicker steel 10,12,16mm (7,5" head) there are no waves in the cut just 4mm steel and with 5" head.

i bet its the aluminum distribution bars running lengthwise in the top of the resonator where the ground rods are. Turn everything off but the chiller, then remove the screws that hold the bars in there's 4 on each side. lift the bars up carefully and look for water seeping out of them. could be a fitting or it could be rotted through. also, under the aluminum tube where the beam comes out there's a rectangular cover, take it off and you can see the radiator that's under the shutter assembly that was mentioned. let us know what you find.

When You use 5" Head the pressure in Bypos mirror is more than when you use 7.5" head
For me the problem is the Burkert proportional valve for Bypos mirror.....

We have called a technician and he will do a service. Since then we are cutting the water is not leaking anymore.
He will check the system and the mirrors. I will let you know how it went. Thanks everyone for replies.

The technician changed all the water pipes and joints, two mirrors, cleand the rest,
centered the beam, also we have changed the lens in the cutting head, and now its all good.
Also he have done some adjustment on the power.
The pipes were full of calcium for the water. We used demineralized water,
and he said that thats not good it needs to be deionized water.
