Can you refer good reference books for Seismic and Survey exams?
That would be better if they have examples similar to PE questions.
Thanks

I used the review book from Hiner (here: ) when I took the exam about 15 years ago. Passed first try. The survey exam is just geometry + vertical and horizontal curves, and was much easier than the seismic. I don't remember what I used for that.

PPI has some excellent books geared to those exams.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

I wrote a response on reddit to a similar question after having taken and passed all (3) Civil Engineering CA exams this past April. Please note attached link for my detailed response:
In short for seismic I would recommend the review book and on-demand course by Steven T. Hiner ( and for surveying I used the Civil Engineering Reference Manual by Michael R. Lindeburg, Chapters 78-81 (Transportation and Construction chapters).

Thank you,
Morgan M. Wright
