Can AISI 1215 steel beam rust

Want to know is AISI 1215 steel easy to be rust? any rust resistance comparison table....

SAE 1215 steel will rust readily in any environment with RH above about 40%.

Unless it is called "stainless steel", it will rust. All AISI grades like 1215, 1018, 4130, etc.

"stainless steel" isn't really. In the right environment it will corrode.

AISI 1215 is a free machining carbon steel, and as others noted its corrosion resistance is similar to other carbon steels.

Are you sure you meant AISI 1215? Are you asking about bare 1215 steel, or are you asking about 1215 steel with some form of surface coating?

i mean on some nickel coating, what is the best thickness for 1215, How about S45C , is it equipvalent?

Electroless nickel on 1215 steel can provide excellent corrosion protection depending on the environment. It is typically applied from .0005" to .0015" thick.

I believe S45C is equivalent to AISI 1045 carbon steel. Higher carbon content than 1215, but similar corrosion resistance.
