Our customer standards force us to design our assembly file as one part file with multiple solid bodies. Is there a way to convert the assy files? I downloaded a purchased component and I need to bring it in to my part file. When I do the File Import it brings it in as an assy. They wont accept this.

One way is to export the components as parasolids, delete the components and import the parasolids.

Another way - Wave link the solid (non associative), delete the part from the 'assembly' - If required remove the parameters of the wave linked body to remove it's 'heritage' and render it a dumb body.

Open the assembly file, and go to...

File -> Export -> Part...

...and set 'Part Specification' to 'New' and enter a part name. Now with the 'Object Selection Scope' set to 'All Objects', go to 'Class Selection' and 'Select All' and when you return you need to decide whether you wish to retain the parametric nature of the models or not. If so, toggle ON 'Retain Internal Parameters' and for the 'Expression Transfer Mode' toggle ON 'Copy if Referenced' and then hit OK. Now open the newly created Part file and you should find your complete assembly but as a single file with no internal structure other than the features (if you had those options set).
