Can You Identify This Part

The part is a 3-pin device and appears to be a transistor or diode. on top of the part is the marking "KL3 K3". how can I determine exactly what this is and get a manufacturer part number?

1. Try some web sites that trade old electronic parts, e.g.

2. It could also be a military or foreign item.

it's in a new circuit and definitely not military or foreign. i'm guessing it's a FET but I don't know how to cross a part number with only part marking
