Hi,

I'm trying to put a .015 blend on a linked body that has concave & convex surface. Previously, I had no problems, but I had to modify the Linked Body a little bit. Now, for some unknown reason, I can't apply my .015 blend.

What could be the cause & more importantly, how can I fix?

Thanks

I've narrowed it down to the faces of the 'blade'. If I replace the linked body with a simplified version, the blends work just fine.

Hi John,

How did you simplify the linked body? Did you go to the child component & "clean up" the geometry in there in some way?

Thanks

It was a very gross simplification and was confined to only the area where the cutouts were located. All I was trying to do was to verify that the problem was not with the basic geometric shape of the model but rather with the 'quality' of the original faces of the model. I would upload my example except that I'm working from home and the upload option here on Eng-Tips is very sensitive to timing-out. Now my email seems to work OK, but not the Eng-Tips upload. If you could email me (just add a couple of periods at what would seem to be logical places in my username and then the appropriate extra stuff and I think you should be able to figure out my email address).

Hi John,

I e-mailed a "John R. Baker" at Siemens that I hope will find you.

I just got a reply, so it looks like it did.

Thanks
