Dear group,
I have material with following analysis:
%C=3.57
%Si=2.64
%Mn=0.489
%S=0.115
%P=0.02
%Cr=0.159
%Mo=0.008
%Ni=0.06
%Cu=0.07
Hardness of this material is 140HB.
How can I have hardness 210HB with above mentioned analysis?
Best Regards

This is a hyper eutectic cast iron. Hence you have low hardness. some small Cr is seen, but is insufficient. Do you need surface hardness? If so try flame hardening .

mali325--what is your application? Normally gray iron is spec'ed by tensile strength, not hardness, unless low hardness is a requirement for machinability. If you need to boost the tensile of this iron, you might try a normalize, with a forced fan air cool.
