Casting tolerance within... 1

Hey all,
I'm looking for some advice on how to interpret a note on a drawing.
It has casting and machined features toleranced.
In the title block their is not a reference to .xx place decimals for tolerancing.
However a note on the drawing states "CAST FEATURES SHALL BE LOCATED WITHIN .03 OF BASIC POSITION RELATIVE TO LOCATING POINTS."
My question is, is that +/- .03 or a total of .03 (+/-.015)?

You've found the problem with using notes. But based on that wording, it would be +/- .03.
Think of it this way: If I say that my house is located within 10 miles of Dallas, TX, then that means there's a radius of 10 miles -- or a diameter of 20 miles -- which forms an imaginary boundary containing my house (and thousands of others, of course).
