Hi everyone- we are looking at a connection from a typical cfs built up header to a king stud style post. The connection is proposed to consist of screwed cfs plates to both sides of the header to the post similar to how a shear tab would act. Does anyone have any input or thoughts on how to check? The screws I’m ok with, but haven’t seen any examples or literature for this type of connection before. Looking to avoid premade connectors.
Thanks!

Agree with Celt83. Clark Dietrich also makes a similar product for header to jamb stud connections.

I don't think it makes sense to "reinvent the wheel" in this case.
