I recently had to change jobs due to slowdown of work at my previous employer. I really loved working there, and if it weren't for the bad economy I wouldn't have changed jobs. That kept aside, now I am with a group that is relatively smaller, and everhthing done in a different way. I am sure many in this group have been in a similar position at some point in their career. So, I was wondering if you all could share your experiences on how you were able to deal with this kind of a transition. Thanks in advance.

Every job I've had involved a different way of doing some things. Keep an open mind and relish the opportunity of learning something new.

Resist the temptation to keep saying, "I'm used to doing it this way." After a while, if you see that one of 'your' ways really is better, then you can show/teach them the alternative.
