I have inserted an existing part into a product which already contains a part and now I want to change the origin point/axis for the new part so it is next to the exiting part rather than on top of it. If it is possible I want to have a single axis system for both parts.

How would I move the new part?

It may be a little tricky if your part is a "good" part with features. If it's a "dumb" solid you could simply move it with a compass to specific location or an axis system.

pedro - you can do this in assembly design mode. Compass move or constrain the axis system form Part A (original part) to Part B (newly inserted component).
Both components still have their individual origin but in assembly mode they will use the absolute zero of the assembly?

Derek
