Hi Guys,

In fact I am new member of this forum and also this is my first message :)

Have an very urgent issue and hope that you can help me.

I have been working on UG-NX but only for a month. So my question is:

There is an model which is read-only, and I have to make its drawing and dimensioning. Thus I imported the base view and sectional view from model, and started to dimensioning. However I've notice that my work layer is wrong. I am able to change the work layers of dimensions but not able to base and sectional view's.

Hope that somebody knows the answer.

Thanks

Hi concerta ,
You can use MOVE TO LAYER to push the view objects to the intended layer (or the layer where you will keep your dimensions).
Actually you should push your solid/sheet (which you are including in your views) to the desired layer in the modeling scenario itself. It will reflect in the drafting view also.(i know it can be done in drafting also but ideally the layer management should be done in the modeling environment)
I hope i understood your problem correctly.

Instead of importing the views, bring the model into the drawing file as a component and take the views from there. You can change the layer of the component without affecting the master model.

You can change the layers of the views regardless of it being imported or a component. I think it will be easier to find a solution if we knew why you need to change the layer.

Thank you Guys. I made it as Ewh said: bring the model into the dwg file and it happened. In fact I am not sure how it happened. Thanks to all :)
