I want to use API 5L X70, 18.00 in. O.D. X 0.75 in. Wall thickness pipe in an application at -25F. What can be the expected charpy results at -25F?

No. I believe 5L requires 37 ft-lbs at 32F

Thank you, Steve. You are correct. Would you expect the same 27J to be found at -25F as at 32F per 5L?
Paul

27J is the minimum requirement. The answer as to whether you will get that at -25 deg F is: it depends upon whom the pipe is being purchased from

Provided that the Charpy requirements are clearly communicated with the order, quality pipe manufacturers will tailor steel purchase and pipe manufacturing to meet them.

Thank you, Steve.
Who are you favorite pipe makers? There is a lot of Chinese and Indian pipe out there and I am a bit leery.

I don't really have any favourites, but to help you in your quest see the attachment. It's from 2006 so some of the mill locations may now be defunct or affiliations changed
