Hello

first excuse my english, I will try my best :)

I am exploring our landscape with a camcorder (nightshot) and a 850nm IR pass filter wich is quite amazing... but LWIR is much more amazing!

as a non expert on this subject i would like to ask you about pricing for an uncooled detector 8-14um (maybe oem device), so I dont need it to find exact temperatures and 8Hz is also okay (dont want to make heatGuidedMissiles), its just for imaging fun (expensive, i know). Cheapest device I found was at 3000 Euro. I have asked some big companies for oem Pricing, never got an answer. BMW is selling PathfindIR on request.. is it true that some Flir devices have a up-interploated resolution? (320x240 real: 160x...) (physically same device).
so far
greets from germany

LWIR is, as you have discovered, much more interesting! Your best bet may be to look for a used IR camera. There are some amazing NEW systems, however, in the $4500-7500USD range. In Germany you will have many excellent choices.

If I can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact me.
