We had a guy posting a question about a 1200 mm pipeline and several of us called him on it. He got really snarky. The thread is thread378-320640 Take a look and see if we were ugly enough to warrant his response.

The guy needs a glass lens in his own naval.

What would you be doing, if you knew that you could not fail?

David, I'd put that "1200 mm pipeline" in quotes because as btrueblood put it, that sure isn't a pipeline you and BigInch deal with -- it's not even a pipe length found in the power plants I deal with!

For the record, I didn't give him the star. However, the thread has been keeping my spirits up all week. The snarky responses have been terrific!

Sorry, I RF'd his reply. Somebody should get a screen capture of the whole thread before Dave blows it outta here through a 12mm pipeline.

I red flagged it also -- I noticed somebody added it to their FAQ which usually preserves it from disappearing to the great graveyard in the sky, but I'll do a screen capture and post here.

Edit function would be good. Here's a pdf of the entire thread, updated to include IRStuff's comment.

I added it to my archive to see if that would work. If it doesn't there's no big loss.

Well I had a good belly laugh. I'm tempted to attempt to quell the flame by dousing it with a bucket of petrol.

Of course the appropriate response would have been a red flag without comment, but what fun is there in that.

OK. It's been sanitised. Anyone want to buy a redundant bucket of petrol cheap.

Seeing as it is no longer a fun thread, I RFed the OP as being at the level we could easily teach a smart 10 year old to solve.

I thought everyone was pretty restrained. He's obviously lacking a sense of humor.

I wonder if the 1200 mm 'pipeline' should have been 1200 m (which is still sort of short) but he should have still seen the humor in it.

David, I loved your reply in the guy with the compressor endlessly filling the two tanks "what did this poor gas ever do to you?"

It has been that kind of week.

Ooh, someone may be in trouble - and this time I don't think it's me.

I deleted my archive entry and RF'd the thread. It isn't so much fun since the editing.

Dang, I'd give you a star for saving that VPL if we could here.

I missed Tick's reply, that was great.

Fun for us to look at or not, the guy is now feeling somewhat impotant in the presense of a universal higher power. That would be punishment enough for me. :)

What would you be doing, if you knew that you could not fail?
