Chrome Plating after Ultrasonically Welding

Has anyone had success with chrome plating on 2 plastic (ABS plating grade) parts that have been ultrasonically welded together? I received DFM feedback from 1 vendor that said they thought there would be discoloration around the seam due to an inability to properly clean that area. I would appreciate any feedback! Thanks!
