Just curious what other engineering firms are charging. For the sake of argument, lets say its a standard "developer wants to fill in the floodplain and compensate elsewhere, without touching the floodway, on a studied reach" kind of project.

Beej - our last LOMR was about 13K for all the mailings etc... We break it down by hours for the client. The modeling was complete prior to the LOMR Contract.

estimate a cost for all items as needed
hydrology
hydraulics (convert from HEC2?)
Report / TDN including the FEMA forms
survey and mapping
annotated FIRM
and comments / response from the FEMA reviewer as well as from the County or City

then add
as-built
final analysis
LOMR report and TDN
final map
comments / response

my last one is $35k

My last full LOMR was $4k of engineering and another $16k of headache, so I wanted to get a gauge of others experiences. These things are so hard to throw a lump sum number at.

If your development is outside the floodway...you may not have to have a CLOMR. Just because someone wants to develop in the floodplain doesn't always point to a CLOMR.

Beej - I didnt quantify the headaches, lol. They would be at least triple the cost.
