I am working with a Two-storey building, ground floor has sprinkler system and fire hose cabinets. First floor has only standpipe system (fire hose cabinets) and no sprinkler system. I believe I have to perform calculations for both sprinkler and hose cabinet system. As per NFPA 14, it is mentioned "For a combined system in a building equipped with partial automatic sprinkler protection, the flow rate required by 10.6.1 shall be increased by an amount equal to the hydraulically calculated sprinkler demand or 150 gpm for light hazard occupancy or by 500 gpm for ordinary hazard occupancies, whichever is less. As the GF of building is Sprinklered and first floor is not sprinklered, does this point apply to my case? Partial automatic sprinkler system applies to portion of building or portion of floor? It did not specify anywhere in the code.
