Communication over Buss Bar

I need to have communication from a AB ControlLogix to a AB Micrologix or a remote flex I/O rack. The remote I/O will not be physically connected to the Controllogix by a cable. Has anyone used either devicenet over a buss bar (similar to bridge cranes) or DH+ if I put a micro in the remote location. I would prefer to stay away from ethernet over RF if possible

What about wired Ethernet from ControLogix rack to Flex I/O remote rack? The Flex I/O line offers DH+, Ethernet, and other communications adapters for the Flex rack.

Prosoft also offers wireless radio communications, not just Ethernet protocol.
