Hello everybody,

can any one help me to "cut" the part which I attached with the Swept/Trim and extend funtions. Every time when I'm performing the cut the system will notice that the tool and target do not form a complete intersection. After swept Operation I tried to enlarge the surfaces to sew them and afterwards to cut them with trim sheet. But I get the same error.

Can anyone suggest which funtion I shall be using to complete this cut operation.

Thanks in advance.

First of all thank you for your quick reply. The cut problem was managed but when I'm trying to blend the edges of the surfaces with a 3 mm blend radius - it's not working as I was expecting.

Could you please suggest how to create additional 3 mm blend radius(please see attached file).

Thank you in advance.

Again, NX 10.0.3.5 had no problem adding a 3mm blend to the model albeit by having to patch the area around that problematic corner (see attached model).

Later edit.

Is there any possibility to improve the Blend radius in the problematic area? Can it be adjusted in order to have a "flowing" edge bend? This kind of Edge Blend will not let me afterwards to Shell the part if I add additional feature to the part.

Thanks a lot.

Hello kapmnit123, do you think that adding additional cross section will improve the surface? Or I shall be using other feature instead swept?

Thank you!

Hello,

I ve got some trouble generating the surfaces that I uploaded here(see attachement). The surfaces are step file, I wanted to re-create them as NX Features(not extract face or synchronous modelling) and I get stuck by not knowing how to proceed.
First of all I tried to sweep, curve through mesh, etc. the section, but the result was not satisfactory at all, because the upper surface curvature is different from the one on the bottom. Especially the ending of the upper surface it's quite tricky.

Could you please suggest how I shall proceed in this particular case?

Thank you and Merry Christmas to you all.

I'm sorry, but that's NOT a "complex swept surface" but rather a piece of what looks like a much larger model originally created as several 'slab' surfaces with blends applied to the seams where the original slab surfaces intersected with and were trimmed to other slab surfaces. Trying to reproduce from scratch only this small portion of the model when it's obviously been taken from part of a much larger model is never going to give you the shape of what it was originally. If this is all the data that you have, then you just may have live with it as is.
