Compression Fitting (port connectors?)

Hi there.

I thought i'd put the "HELP!!!" here rather than in the subject line

I am working on a project that pipes a whole lot of (small) valves and manifolds and other stuff together which all have NPT (viz 3/8") female ports. I was working on cutting short lengths of tube (~50mm) and using two male compression fittings on either end (rather than use a male-to-male union which would mean I couldn't line the all the valves upright and next to each other). But then I thought to myself that surely that item can be bought pre-made. Trouble is, I have searched high and low and can't seem to find anything - except something called a port connector, but I still don't have a proper idea what that is. Please, if you know of anyone who supplies the widget I'm looking for, or knows its name, please let me know.

The port connector is very common.
One end is machined with a permanent ferrel.
The other end plain tubing.
It takes two nuts and one ferrel set to make a connection.
The port connection can be purchased from any tubing fitting vendor.

If you do similar job in the future, you can purchase valves with tubing connection (not NPT). Saves alot of extra fittings.
