Compressor Disassembly help

I have several hundred compressors with top ends requiring new seals. The problem is: the cup seal is held in place with a compression/interference ring.

I cannot remove this ring with a 3 jaw puller, as there is nothing to grab onto. I've tried heating the ring with propane, but to no avail.

Short of trying to melt the ring in a bucket of acid, and grinding the feet down to knife edges on the 3 jaw puller, I'm at a loss for how to remove the ring in order to replace the worn cup seal...

My goal is to get these things refurbished and back into operation, so minimizing damage to the aluminum piston head is required. (could also use advice on how to press a new ring into place once properly disassembled)

What part in this picture are you trying to remove? A drawing would be much more useful to me than a picture.

What does the manufacturer advise???? Is there nothing in the operation / maintenance manuals??

I'm leaning to using a lathe to remove the ring. The replacement can go on with an arbor press and a little anti-galling material.
