One way 300mm elevated slab for 300kN wheel load over 392mmx500mm contact area (. Punching shear is OK, we're having difficulty satisfying the one way shear. Has anyone delt with this type of situation ? Much appreciated.

What width of section are you using to carry the one-way shear?

300mm. I guess I'm having hard time understanding how this wheel load can fail in one way shear.

rapt is right. Its all about the width that you consider for the one way shear. In the past, I have taken the width of the load (392mm) + 2 times the distance from the support (45 degree influence) as the width. Even this method is overly conservative and can be tweaked but is a good starting point. Just remember, concrete is not glass. A local failure is not a global failure.

I would not make it as wide as Teguci.

AS3600 gives a dimension on this based on a formual using width from nearest support in clause 9.6, but I think its width is too much also.

I would use somewhere between
width of load + 2D (if the load is near the support)
and
width of the load + .3 of the distance to the nearest support (for a load at midspan).
