Connection to X-mas tree 3

Hello,

We need to buy a forged flange adaptor to connect to the X-mas tree.

This forge flange adaptor has the following ends

- End 1: 3" ansi/asme B16.5 flange class 2500#
- End 2: 4-1/16" API 6B flange 5ksi

And this flange adaptor shall withstand 6500 psi

Has anyone bought these kind of flange adaptor? what would it be the design code? ASME VIII??

See B31.3, .4, or .8, if applicable to the components tying on (downstream) to the tree, or the company's design spec for well head assemblies. Use whichever design reference the applicable design code specifys for flange design.

You are crossing the line...... between API materials and code and ASTM materials and ASME/ANSI code. Lucky you don't have a 15k or 20k+ tree. I recommended a spool with API on one end and ANSI flange on the other; I think this has been posted before so you may find other possibilites.

Checkout the Wood Company's Spool Adapters. There are several ways to address your problem so it would be better to contact them with all your requirements and information needed to get the proper component.

It is the design pressure, it is not going to be the test pressure nor the working pressure.
