Hi. Hope everyone is doing well.
I wanted to see what the materials testing/geotechnical companies that do a large amount of construction field inspections use for reporting data (pictures, field dailies, test data, etc.) For dailies we ask the inspectors/technicians to fill out an electronic pdf template on a tablet. For field density testing we just ask them to fill it out on a paper template. For pictures we as them to back it up on google drive. As you can see this is not efficient since the people in the office still need to do data entry and compile this information to create a report.
Recently I went to a job site and saw that the material inspection company uses an all in one cloud based software called FastFieldForms. It is very convenient since it reduces the office data entry and report compilation to almost nothing. Basically it is a very easy to use template that asks the user to enter information one by one (project basic info, field density test data, daily report, pictures/w descriptions, )and it automatically creates a very professional report.
Let me know what everyone thinks and what they use.
