Hi.
I need your guide to define the start or finish point of the construction line for parameters a2 and θ in Figure UW-13.2 sketch (s) BPVC Section VIII Division 1.

UW-13 (f)(6)(-b) indicates: "The dimension a2 shall be measured from the projected surface of the plate being attached as shown in Figure UW-13.2, sketch (s)." The only reference that I found in code is that this construction line must have 45 deg min.

So, I need to have clear the geometrical conditions for this construction line, to evaluate K ratio in UW-13 (f)(6)(-d).

Thank you for your advises.

Giovanny V, pick theta, find a2, or the reverse.

Thank you Mike.

But I need some more specific. See the image below:

Giovanny V, I think it is reasonable to assume the dimension in question is subject to tp limitations as shown in Figs UW-13.2 sketches b),(c) & (d), per UW-13(f).

Mike, this is the way that I was working, thank you for you support.

Giovanny V, UW-13.2(f) requirements can be complex, but can yield benefits. Best of luck.
