Contact Results Outputs

Dear All,

The contact results are displayed on the contact surface only in ANSYS APDL, is there a way to obtain the contact results on Target surface as well.
If we define the symmetric contact by choosing the two surfaces alternatively as contact and target surface by creating two contact pairs, results are obtained but my results are not the same for the asymmetric and symmetric contact. For only one contact pair, I get the right total force at the contact nodes under the bolt pre load only which is equal to the clamping force or the pre load, but in the case of symmetric contact using the same surface as contact in one contact pair and as target surface in second contact pair, the total force at the interface contact nodes is not equal to the pre load.

Is there a way to get the contact area results output.

For symmetric contact, results are stored for both the contact and target surfaces. Only applicable to pure penalty and augmented langrange formulation.

For asymmetric contact, only contact surface results are stored. Applicable to all formulations.

For auto-asymmetric contact, either contact or target surface results are stored. Applicable to all.

The true results may be obtained by averaging the contact and target surface results in case of symmetric contact. I have not done this previously but just check average results.
