I am designing a shear connection for steel beams. One beam is coped. Is it required by any code to check web buckling for all coped beams? Is it necessary? I could not find any example in AISC manual. Any quick way to do that? Please help.

See Section 9 of AISC 360-05. You do need to check the section for web buckling of coped beams. You also need to check block shear for the coped beam.
Section 9 has a pretty straight forward approach that shouldn't be too time consuming. It will take longer to read through it and understand exactly what they are doing than it will to apply it.

pages 9-5 to 9-9 have the discussion and an example or two. Tables 9-2 & 9-3 have section properties for coped ends (if you meet the dimensional constraints), and block shear coefficients, respectively. I've used the information in pages 9-5 to 9-9, but I haven't used the tables - I prefer to calc it out.
