What is its intended use?
Can you tell us when we should use it?
Is it accurate?
What is it based on?
Can you tell us how we should evaluate it and why?

this software is open and free, its intended use is design and analysis of gas networks. it has been developed based on fundamental gas flow equation in pipes . it is accurate, it has been calibrated on other famous networks analysis application and tested on actual cases. i think you might evaluate it if you work in the field of hyd. modeling of piping and you can evaluate it by using it and address your notes

Thank you.

Sounds like it could be of interest.

Am I being a little naive in thinking downloading random software on a forum might not be the best cyber security practice? "Downloader beware" I suppose. Is there a website or something tied to this project?

I am too trusting, but then again I keep no passwords, unreplacable, valuable, or personal data on any of my IOT devices. Only one honey pot "passwords" folder containing totally useles, 99.9% encrypted crap. If anyone goes after that, they'll waste a lot of time for nothing.

until now there is no such web site , but it is a good idea i may benift from. to gain some trust in my application

Yes. A good idea. Evaluating software is time and overhead intensive and seldom produces gainful results. I'd normally rather buy or rent a proven package if possible, or write my own, rather than mess with figuring out whats going on in somebody else's mind. My own mind is hard enough to manage.

I'd recommend that you post your program on github, or a similar site, which allows open source code review before download, and link to it. That gives everyone the reassurance that you're not just providing malware that will immediately compromise their system when it's downloaded. (Otherwise, a secured Virtual Machine is the best place to test it in.)
