I have been asked to physically create a diamond knurl pattern on a portion of a shaft. Does anyone have an easy method for creating this?

Why do you need to physically model a knurled shaft? Is it so that someone can create a visually accurate (photo-realistic) image? If so, there are other approaches which work for most people and does not require you to waste your time creating geometry to that level of detail.

John,

The answer you gave is the answer I was expecting. This was a request from the engineer responsible for the part. I explained it would be a waste of time and serve no purpose, I just needed to back my reply.

Thanks!

Rats! I was hoping someone would reply with a basic parametric seed file for UGNX. I got one in SolidWorks 2008, but that doesn't help me other than update the parameters and export a ParaSolid to UGNX.
