Hello everyone,
In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on our nation, the NRC issued orders to the US nuclear power plants to enforce security in their premises, to mitigate any possible terrorist attack.
In this effect, we are to design security (hardened) booths (some elevated on towers, and some installed on the ground level). These booths have to sustain a bomb blast.
I am to design foundations, which are to sustain a blast overpressure of up to 450 psi, in 7 ms (triangular pulse).
Any technical advice, on how to model/calculate this in STAAD PRO.
Any detailed guidance (since I am new to STAAD) is greatly appreciated.
Thank a lot,
Layla.

Use a time history analysis in STAAD to simulate a blast. They have a new program called STAAD.foundation that can take the results of your analysis and design the mat.
