I'm preparing to wire up a WEG small 110V 1.5 HP single phase capacitor start motor, and need to pick up some Male & Female insulated spade connectors. I chose to use these as space in the motor end cavity is very limited. The wires in the motor are 14 Ga. stranded copper. The AC line in comes from a standard orange 16/3 extension cord. There are 2 other wires (red & black) that appear to be 18 Ga.
The wiring diagram shows making two 3-wire connections. What size crimp connector do I need to get 3 wires twisted into it?
Also, I don't see direction of rotation indicated on the motor. What do I change if I need it to be reversed? This is just driving a large 40" drum fan with a V-belt. Motor turns 3450 rpm with a 2" pulley to a 9" pulley on the fan shaft. Big airflow!
Your thoughts?
