Sirs

As in my earlier Quarry i requested you to advice regarding the unequal stress distribution because of one continues and one discontinues anlage in the same pair of double angles in a cross bracing.

I tried to find out the difference in stress considering the simple theory of equilibrium of forces; however i am not very sure about that.

Please look into the calculation and advice.

I wasn't able to open your attachment Zafery. If others are having the same problem, it might be responsible for the lack of comments on this thread.

The greatest trick that bond stress ever pulled was convincing the world it didn't exist.

Yes! And it was the same with the attachment in the other thread.

I did some research and found that this procedure is as outlined in ASCE 10-97. Did not know that the document existed or that the procedure was valid. One article that I found referenced a program called TOWER which can be used to verify the support provided by the tension member to the compression member.

Must be a good week as I learned something new.
