The curvature discontinuity analysis is possible by the porcupine curvature analysis tool,and at a C2 discontinuity point, can be read two different values. Is the subtraction of them the curvature discontinuity value at the point?
If so, why the value is different from the value displayed by the smooth curve command at the point? (or the value displayed by the extract command - curvature type)

Thanks all.

the online doc gives the definition of the value for the smooth curve option:

DS doc said:
Curvature Threshold: specifies a ratio between 0 and 1 which is defined as follows:

if ||Rho1-Rho2|| / max (||Rho2||,||Rho1||) < (1-r)/r
where Rho1 is the curvature vector on one side of the discontinuity, Rho2 the curvature vector on the other side, and r the ratio specified by the user;
then the discontinuity is smoothed.

For example, r=1 corresponds to a continuous curvature and r=0.98 to the model tolerance (default value). A great discontinuity will require a low r to be taken into account.

So on one side you have curvature difference and on the other curvature threshold for smoothing...

Thank you.
Let me ask my question in another way. A value is displayed on a C2 discontinuity when using the smooth curve command for example. How is it possible to make the value manually?
I used the porcupine curvature analysis command, read two different values on the sides of the discontinuity and used this formulla:
||Rho1-Rho2|| / max (||Rho2||,||Rho1||) + 1
but the resutl is not the same as the value displayed on the C2 discontinuity. What's your opinion about it?
