Cooling only is just that, no heating capability.
Heat pumps provide cooling and heating. In heating mode, the refrigerant cycle is reversed. The indoor coil becomes the condenser, the outdoor coil becomes the evaporator.

why is the outdoor cooling only type is limited capacity comparing to heat pump? the project is at tropical climate i dont need heating applications

"why is the outdoor cooling only type is limited capacity comparing to heat pump? the project is at tropical climate i dont need heating applications"

A heat pump has a better COP because the heat of compression is also used in the heat mode where as in the cooling mode the heat of compression must be removed in the condenser

Hi, not sure if i've missed something,

when you say compression, it's in cooling mode, how can a heat pump has a better cop by utilising the heat at heating mode?? since heat pump works on cooling and heating, but not simutaneously.

You didn't define what 'limited capacity' meant.

Do you mean that the same piece of catalogued equipment has more cooling capacity when classified as a heat pump?

Post more information on the actual problem you're facing, because I can't figure out what you're question really is.
