For the GM version of UGS, is there a way to
1. Output a text file of the DCS log
2. Edit and re-import the new values into NX

i.e. by-pass the DCS entry dialog box?

If not, is there a way to write some code to do this?

Thanks
Sarvajit

They way we do it is we open the DCS dialog box, click the "Print to information window" icon, and do "file" - "save as" - "filename.txt". As far as editing goes, most of the information in the DCS log comes from the part attributes. You can try editing those.

Thank you.

Is there a way to edit the text file and re-import the file so that components in the assembly gets these attributes? e.g. Name of the engineer is changed in the text file, re-imported into NX and affects the title-block?

It's all done with attributes. If you're working with a Native version you can just cut and paste the attributes from one file to another.

If you're using teamcentre, which I doubt because you'd be supported with the right software, then you can't do this for all of the values.
