Dear expert,

I am working on a revemping project for a fuel storage tank (63.5 m x 20.2m),

The old design had a floating roof, the client wants to change it into a geodesic dome aluminium fixed roof,

The tank is located in north africa mauritania, 50° max température

My inquiry is about the necessity of the installation of an internal floating roof fir this kind of service, is necessary and why ?

Thanks

Yes its necessary.

Why - To reduce vapour emission and product loss, never mind the environmental issues.

What is the product being stored? "Fuel" is very vague.

but at 50C you will be getting a lot of vapour from any sort of "fuel".

Why does client want a geodesic roof?

Thanks for the feedback,

The stored product is diesel

The existing floating roof is in critical condition and way detriorated

Then you still need an internal floating roof.

You might be able to repair the existing roof and if you can get rid of the rain and water issue it might be able to be used as an internal roof.

According to the visual inspection showing the corrosion state of the floating roof and the diesel spills on it, the client has decided to remove it,

Where may i find the calculation to prove the necessity of a IFR aling with the fixed dome roof ?
